Huge fallen pear tree removal in Wallasey, Wirral.

Lumbers Tree & Hedge Care safely dismantled and disposed of this large fallen pear tree in Wallasey, Wirral (more images seen within our gallery page). At first glance, the tree looks to be in perfect health other than it taking a lay down on our customer’s lawn and resting her crown on the swing set.  No noticeable structural damage or splits in the trunk or limbs? No sign of pear rust/leaf spot disease neither?  This tree was located next to a newly built extension on a small bank along with a small leylandii conifer. The rest of the rear garden was perfectly flat.

It seems like the small bank was created by excess soil and waste from the builders, building the extension and laying the new patio area. Once a tree is established its best to not tamper with the soil levels around them. Adding even a small amount of soil to the base of an already established tree can reduce the trees access to oxygen and water. This fallen pear tree had at least an extra foot of soil placed around the base. It is also a possibility that the trees rooting system may have taken some damage during the prep work to lay the patio; some main anchor roots may have been removed.
